INSURANCE COORDINATOR

Lucy

Lucy joined the Smiles of Fort Myers team in 2025, bringing decades of experience in customer service and dental office operations. She began her journey in dentistry after earning her Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification in 2016 and has since held a variety of key roles, including Office Manager, Patient Care Coordinator, Insurance/Billing Coordinator, and Front Desk Mentor.

Lucy’s passion for dentistry is deeply personal. Inspired by her grandmother’s struggle with dentures and her own journey with braces – twice! She understands the emotional and physical impact of dental health. Today, she finds joy in helping patients feel empowered and supported, especially those navigating long-term treatment plans. Her expertise in insurance coordination ensures that patients feel confident and informed, knowing they have an advocate to support them in maximizing their benefits.

Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lucy moved to Florida in 1992. Outside the office, she enjoys painting, working out, exploring new foods, and spending quality time with her family.

Jared, Treatment Planning Coordinator
TREATMENT PLAN COORDINATOR

Jared

Jared brought something a little different to the Smiles of Fort Myers team when he joined in October 2025 — a background that has nothing to do with dentistry, and everything to do with what great patient care actually requires. With over five years of combined experience in sales and information technology, plus a foundation in networking, he knows how to communicate clearly under pressure, troubleshoot on the fly, and guide people through complex decisions with patience and confidence.

As a Treatment Plan Coordinator, those skills translate directly into something patients feel: someone who truly explains things, listens, and makes the path forward feel manageable.
Dentistry may be a new chapter for Jared, but his reason for being here is straightforward — he wanted work that mattered. He understands firsthand how much a healthy, confident smile can affect a person’s quality of life, and he takes that seriously. Whether he’s walking a patient through a treatment plan for the first time or helping them navigate next steps, his approach is the same: professional, warm, and entirely focused on making sure no one leaves feeling confused or unsupported.

A Bradenton native, Jared is a true Floridian at heart, equally at home with a fishing rod in his hand or behind a screen, deep into a gaming session or mapping out the next road trip. At home, life is never quiet: he shares his space with his family and a lively crew of five dogs, three Chihuahuas and two Boxers, who keep things interesting. That same big, full-of-life energy is exactly what he brings to the office every day.

Isa, Dental Assistant at Smiles of Fort Myers
LEAD DENTAL ASSISTANT

Isaura

Isa brings a legacy of dental excellence to Smiles of Fort Myers, following in the footsteps of her mother who was also a Dental Assistant. Since starting her own career in 2009, Isa has approached her work with compassion, sensitivity, and a great sense of humor. Her positivity is infectious, making it hard not to smile when she’s around. Isa’s outstanding performance as a Dental Assistant made her the natural choice to be Lead DA at our office. In this role Isa mentors and guides her fellow Dental Assistants to ensure a superior experience for every patient.

Passionate about dentistry, Isa’s enthusiasm shines through in her interactions with patients. She excels at fabricating temporaries, ensuring patients can smile with confidence while awaiting their permanent dentures, bridges, or crowns. Isa takes great joy in connecting with patients through smile makeovers and loves witnessing their happiness when the transformation is complete.

Isa’s journey began in Cuba, and at the age of six, she and her family moved to Florida. When she’s not busy brightening smiles at the office, Isa enjoys spending quality time with her beautiful daughter, skating, dancing, and exploring new adventures. Isa is fluent in English and Spanish.

DENTAL ASSISTANT

Rosalba

Rosa was educated at the Institution of Medical and Dental Technology and began her career working here with Dr. Sanderford in 2021. We were delighted to have her continue as part of the Smile of Fort Myers team when we transitioned to our new name in 2023. Rosa continues to help ensure that our office continues to uphold the high standard of patient care Dr. Sanderford’s patients expect.

Rosa’s decision to pursue a career in dentistry was sparked by her curiosity about what goes on behind the scenes at the dental office. In her current role, she finds great satisfaction in assisting the doctor and keeping the office organized and running smoothly. Rosa’s team members know her as a highly motivated quick study who helps make our office a great place to work and for patients to visit.

Originally from Guatemala, Rosa was raised in Fort Myers, where she developed a love for both her community and her profession. Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and playing soccer. Rosa is married and the proud mother of two boys.

DENTAL ASSISTANT

Keisha

Keisha joined the Smiles of Fort Myers team in 2024, bringing with her nearly a decade of dental experience. A certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) with additional certifications in radiology, phlebotomy, and CPR, she is also currently working toward her Associate of Applied Science degree, a pursuit that reflects the same drive and ambition she brings to everything she does. Having worked as a Dental Assistant, Sterilization Technician, and Patient Care Coordinator over the course of her career, Keisha understands the dental experience from every corner of the office — and that perspective makes her an exceptionally thoughtful caregiver.

Her love for dentistry started early in life. As a child, she watched her aunt work in a dental office and felt an immediate spark of curiosity that never faded. That early inspiration grew into a genuine commitment to showing up for patients during moments that can feel scary or overwhelming, and turning those moments into something positive. Keisha has a natural gift for putting people at ease, and her colleagues know it too. She’s earned the unofficial title of “office cheerleader” — the one who fills the room with laughter, lifts the energy on hard days, and makes every patient feel like they’re in good hands.

Born in Albany, New York, and in Fort Myers, Keisha has deep roots in our community. Outside the office, Keisha shares her home with her husband, her three beloved children, and a French Bulldog named Gracie. Favorite leisure activities include family time, riding ATVs, cooking, and channeling her creativity into nails, hair, and design.

DENTAL ASSISTANT

Maria

Maria brings a depth of knowledge to her role at Smiles of Fort Myers that goes well beyond what most dental assistants carry into the operatory. Her career began in 2015 with her training as a dentist in Cuba. There she built a strong clinical foundation before moving to the United States and channeling that expertise into her role as a Dental Assistant. Maria pursued further education at Florida National University and grew her skills across multiple dental offices before joining our team in 2024. Maria’s comprehensive knowledge of the treatment process elevates the experience of every patient she serves.

What drives Maria , though, isn’t the clinical complexity, it’s the moment after. Seeing a patient’s face light up when they look at their results, feeling the shift from nervousness to confidence, and knowing she played a part in that transformation is what keeps her passionate about coming to work every day. She leads with kindness and warmth as a matter of principle, believing that a genuinely welcoming presence can change the entire tone of a visit, especially on the days when patients need it most.

Originally from Havana, Cuba, Maria lived in California and Miami before settling here in Fort Myers. Outside the office, she finds her balance in the pages of a good book. A talented vocalist, she also enjoys singing. She and her husband share their home with their two beloved dogs. Maria is fluent in English and Spanish.
