Dr. Claudia Orta, Fort Myers Dentist

Meet Dr. Orta

Dr. Claudia Orta holds a Doctor in Dental Surgery degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She completed a two-year postdoctoral residency program as a Dental Resident at AEGD NYU Langone dental medicine. Prior to joining the Smiles of Fort Myers team in 2024, Dr. Orta treated patients at private practices in the area.

Dr. Orta’s areas of expertise include oral surgery, endodontic treatments, periodontics, operative, and restorative dentistry. Committed to staying abreast of the latest developments in dentistry and advancing her clinical expertise, Dr. Orta regularly participates in continuing education. Areas in which she has pursued advanced training include endodontics, oral rehabilitation, pain management, and infection control.

Patients appreciate Dr. Orta’s compassionate approach and commitment to building a trusting relationship with each patient. Patient communication is at the forefront of Dr. Orta’s clinical approach. She believes in taking the time to ensure patients understand not only the treatment recommendations but the reasons behind them as well as actions the patient can take to ensure the best possible outcome. An excellent communicator, Dr. Orta is effective at using the appropriate presentation style for a range of patients including children, the elderly, and those with health issues.

Dr. Orta is fluent in Spanish and English.

Victor Galvan DDS Fort Myers Dentist

Meet Dr. Galvan

Dr. Victor Galvan joined Smiles of Fort Myers in 2025, bringing with him over a decade of healthcare experience and a unique clinical background that sets him apart in the dental field. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida. After ten years in nursing, he returned to the University of Florida to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).

Dr. Galvan’s brings a unique foundation in patient care to his role. Prior to embarking on his career as a dentist, he worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of settings, including Medical ICU and home health. The transition into dentistry allowed him to blend his passion for healthcare with his love for hands-on, technical work.

In addition to his academic studies, Dr. Galvan completed advanced training in implant dentistry and IV sedation, including the prestigious AAID MaxiCourse and the DOCS IV Sedation Course. He holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and maintains a Moderate Sedation Permit, ensuring the patient safety and comfort during procedures requiring conscious IV sedation.

With a calm and caring presence, Dr. Galvan focuses on making dental visits a positive and stress-free experience, especially for those who may feel anxious about treatment. With his background in critical care nursing, he remains composed under pressure and focused on the individual needs of each patient. He takes pride in building trust through clear, compassionate communication and enjoys showing patients that going to the dentist can be a comfortable, and even pleasant experience. Dr. Galvan believes in treating the whole patient, not just their smile, and works hard to ensure all treatment recommendations are tailored to patient needs and concerns.

A native of Arcadia, FL, Dr. Galvan has lived in the state his entire life, with past stops in Tampa and Gainesville during his undergraduate and dental school years. He now calls Southwest Florida home, where he lives with his wife and their beloved Maltipoo, Beau. In his free time, he enjoys working out, grilling, watching football and boxing, and spending time with his family. A former amateur boxer who once traveled the country competing in tournaments, he brings that same discipline and drive to his professional life. Dr. Galvan is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to connect with a wide range of patients and provide care that is both inclusive and personalized.
